Understanding Contacts

The "Contacts" section in Yuzap works as a database of end users or customers you have interacted with through the Yuzap widget. You can also upload contacts manually.

To view the Contacts screen, click the "Contacts" tab on the left sidebar of your dashboard. This is the typical appearance of a contacts screen:

How to add contacts?

There are several ways to add contacts to your Yuzap instance:

Manual Upload

You can add contacts manually by clicking the "New Contact" button on the Contacts page. You will be prompted to fill in details such as name, email, phone number, etc.

Pre-chat forms

If you have enabled pre-chat forms for your website's live chat widget, contacts will be created automatically when a visitor fills out the form before starting a chat.

Channel Greeting

For some channels, when a new conversation is started by a user who is not yet a contact, Yuzap may automatically create a contact record.

Contacts grouped by tags

You can organize your contacts by applying tags. This helps segment and manage your customer base effectively. Tags can be created and managed in the Tags section and then applied to contacts.

Sorting contacts

The contacts list can be sorted by various attributes such as Name, Email Address, Phone Number, Company, City and Last Activity. Click on the column headers to sort in ascending or descending order.

Contact Actions

When viewing a contact's profile, you have several actions available:

Action – Send a new message

You can start a new conversation with a contact directly from their profile.

Contact Notes

You can add internal notes to a contact's profile. These notes are visible only to agents and can be used to store important information or context about the contact.

Filtering Contacts

Yuzap allows you to filter your contacts based on various attributes and custom fields.

Step 1. Click the 'Filter' button.

Step 2. A pop-up will open. Here, you can edit existing filters using the dropdown menus:

  • Name

  • email

  • Phone number

  • Identifier

  • Country name

  • City

  • Created on

  • Last activity

  • Source link

  • Blocked

You can also add filters or clear them all to revert to the original contacts list.

Click the "Submit" button. You will be redirected to the Contacts screen and will see only the contacts that match the selected filters.

Saving a filter as a contact segment

After applying a filter, you can save it as a segment for quick access in the future. This helps create dynamic contact lists based on specific criteria.

Editing or reverting a filter

You can edit existing saved filters or revert to the default view by clearing all active filters.
